About Us
St Peter's was opened in 1976 occupying a very pleasant, well designed building on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. We are fortunate to have excellent facilities, including extensive playing fields, playgrounds, sports changing rooms, outdoor swimming pool and a computer suite and library. We have exciting plans to greatly enlarge all of the classrooms over the next few years. 
As a junior school the children are aged between 7 and 11 (Education Years 3 - 6)The school currently has about 140 children on roll, which are split between five classes. We endeavour to keep class sizes below 30. Classes are named after three of the local Dartmoor 'tors'. Class sizes currently range between 18 and 36 pupils.
The school is noted for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere in which children are given every opportunity and encouragement to succeed. We foster high standards of achievement and expect good conduct and courtesy from the children.
